How to collect testimonies from your church
Give people a phone number they can call or text the moment God does something. No app to download and no form to fill out. They tell the story in their own words, and your team reads it.
Why use a phone number instead of an app?
Everyone in your church already has a phone. Most will not download a new app or make a new password. A number works for a teenager and for a grandmother.
A phone call also keeps the story in the person’s own voice. That is often the best part.
How does it work?
Share one number.
Say it on Sunday: “Has God done something this week? Call or text it in.”
People call or text.
They tell the story, and they say if it’s private or OK to share.
It’s written out.
Each call is typed out in minutes and marked as a testimony, a prayer request, or both. The recording stays beside it.
Your team reads it.
Tick Reviewed so everyone sees who followed up. A morning email lists what came in.
Share the good ones, with care.
Only share stories marked OK to share. Even then, a quick call to ask first is kind.
What can a pastor say to ask for testimonies?
People share more when you ask often and make it easy. Try this from the stage:
“Did God answer a prayer this week? Did something good happen that you can’t explain? Call or text our prayer line and tell us. It takes a minute. We read every one.”
Then thank people when you share a story. Others will call in next week.
How do you keep testimonies for later?
Download any month as one ZIP file. Keep it for your records, or pull a story for a newsletter or a video. If you ever stop, you have 30 days after your last paid month to download everything.
Can the same number take prayer requests?
Yes. A call can be a prayer request, a testimony, or both. One number keeps it simple for your church. See how to collect prayer requests by phone.
What does it cost?
Prayer & Testimony Line is $35 a month for your church, for prayer requests and testimonies. There is no free trial. You pay by card at checkout, and we get your number the day you sign up. Read more on the home page.
